KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) -- A Texas woman has vanished while snorkeling off the northwest coast of Curacao and the local coast guard has stopped looking for her after three days of fruitless searching.
Amanda Waller was last seen Thursday while swimming back to Curacao's Cas Abao beach. The 29-year-old woman from Katy, Texas, had been snorkeling with her husband and other vacationers just before disappearing.
Coast Guard spokesman Roderick Gouverneur says their search for Waller was suspended late Saturday after rescuers on an interceptor boat, helicopter and plane were unable to find any sign of her.
Waller's relatives have set up a GoFundMe account to fund a continued search. So far, it has raised over $7,800.
On Monday, police spokesman Imro Zwerwer said detectives are investigating and authorities still "hope for a positive outcome."
