CARSON, California (AP) -- Los Angeles' Robbie Keane converted a penalty and set up two others as the Galaxy beat Portland 5-0 on Wednesday, scoring five goals for the second straight match.

The teams went into the game level on points, and Portland on a four-game winning run, but the Timbers were no match for the Galaxy, who moved within a point of the Western Conference lead.

Sebastian Lletget scored for the third straight match, putting the Galaxy ahead in the 13th minute. Keane converted in the 18th minute, and Robbie Rogers scored his first MLS goal since 2011 off a pass from Keane in the 33rd.

Juninho scored in the 72nd off another Keane assist and Jose Villarreal added the final goal in the 87th minute.

Portland's Liam Ridgewell was given a red card in the 78th.

Conor Doyle scored in the 73rd minute to give D.C. United victory at Chicago.

Doyle pounced upon a rebound off a defender and fired a strike from outside the 18-yard box which went in off the underside of the bar.

United padded their lead in the Eastern Conference to 10 points over New England while Chicago has dropped four straight.

Philadelphia's C.J. Sapong scored his fifth goal in six games to help the hosts beat Seattle.

Sapong headed in Sheanon Williams' perfectly chipped cross in the 69th minute.

Philadelphia had a goal disallowed for a foul on the goalkeeper in the 27th minute and in the 30th, Maurice Edu's penalty was blocked by Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

Seattle struggled without injured Obafemi Martins and suspended Clint Dempsey, not getting a shot on target until the 83rd and not winning a corner until the 87th.

Columbus' Kei Kamara boosted his lead in the scoring charts with two goals to beat New England, snapping a six-game winless streak.

Columbus partially avenged last season's conference semifinal loss to the Revolution, which has lost nine of its past ten road games.

New England's Lee Nguyen scored after just 35 seconds, drilling in a shot from the top of the 18-yard box. The Crew answered in the fourth minute when a header hit the crossbar and bounced to Kamara who fired into the back of the net.

Kamara scored the winner with his heal in the 50th minute for his 12th goal of the season.

New York's Mike Grella scored in the fourth minute and the Red Bulls beat nine-man Real Salt Lake to snap a run of four successive defeats.

Real Salt Lake lost two players to straight red cards in a 15-minute span. Captain Javier Morales was sent off in the 40th minute for a tackle on Felipe that ended a counter-attack. Defender Demar Phillips was sent off in the 55th minute for a high tackle on Connor Lake.

Toronto's Michael Bradley, Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore all scored in a victory over Canadian rival Montreal.

Ambroise Oyongo opened the scoring for the Impact in the 19th minute, but Bradley equalized in the 27th off a cross from Giovinco. Altidore made it 2-1 in the 56th and Giovinco converted a penalty in the 82nd.

Orlando City's Cyle Larin and Kaka scored second-half goals to beat Colorado in the teams' first MLS meeting.

Larin scored in the 62nd minute, streaking through the middle to punch the ball in from point-blank range off a cross from Carlos Rivas. Kaka added his eighth of the season 3 minutes later, firing across goal from the right to just inside the left post.

Orlando City stayed a point ahead of Toronto for third place in the Eastern Conference while the Rapids are winless in five games.
