Last week: Jordan Spieth won the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay in Washington to become the sixth player to win the tournament and the Masters in the same year. The 21-year-old Spieth birdied the final hole and won by a stroke when Dustin Johnson three-putted for par.

Notes: Streelman, Garcia, Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed, Billy Horschel, Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Mahan and Ernie Els are in the field. ... Cameron Smith tied for fourth in the U.S. Open to earn a spot in the field. He also earned enough FedEx Cup points for special temporary tour membership, allowing him to accept unlimited invites for the rest of the season. ... Davis Love III is skipping the U.S. Senior Open to play in the event. He has made only four senior starts since turning 50 in April 2014. ... The Greenbrier Classic is next week in West Virginia.

Last year: Fabrizio Zanotti won at Gut Larchenhof to become the first European Tour winner from Paraguay. He beat Henrik Stenson on the fifth hole of a playoff. Rafa Cabrera-Bello was eliminated on the fourth extra hole, and Gregory Havret dropped out on the second.

Last event: England's Chris Wood won the Lyoness Open in Austria on June 14 for his second European Tour title.

Notes: Martin Kaymer is the lone German champion in tournament history, winning in 2008 at Munich Eichenried. He missed the cut last week in his U.S. Open title defense. ... Sweden's Henrik Stenson is the top-ranked player in the field at No. 7. He tied for 27th in the U.S. Open. ... The French Open is next week, followed by the Scottish Open and British Open.

Last year: Stacy Lewis won the last of her three 2014 titles. She shot a 65 for a one-stroke victory over Lydia Ko, Cristie Kerr and Angela Stanford.

Last event: South Korea's Inbee Park won her third straight Women's PGA Championship on June 14, matching the lowest score in relation to par in a women's major at 19 under. She won by five strokes at Westchester Country Club in New York.

Notes: Park regained the No. 1 spot in the world with her Women's PGA victory. She's in the field along with No. 2 Lydia Ko and No. 3 Lewis. Park won the 2013 event. ... Lewis also won the inaugural tournament in 2007, an unofficial victory after the event was cut to 18 holes because of rain. The then-college player shot a 65. ... The tour is off next week. Play will resume from July 9-12 with the U.S. Women's Open at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania.
