Taiwan’s laptop and PC component powerhouse Gigabyte prides itself in offering ultra slim and lightweight gaming models from the 14-inch P34W v4 to the larger 17.3-inch P37 models. There are no compromises to the hardware either as these notebooks sport high-end 980M GPUs with reasonably easy maintenance and accessibility.

The gaming machine expert unveiled Wednesday at Computex Taipei the latest upgrade to its P37 series with the P37X v4 model, which is a 17.3-inch laptop sporting the latest Broadwell Core-i7 processor and NVIDIA GTX 980M GeForce GDDR5 8GB in Maxwell architecture.

“The P37X v4 offers gamers and graphic professionals a desirable processing horsepower comparable to desktop systems when portability is a priority,” said Carine Hsu, ANZ region account manager at Gigabyte Notebooks division.

The latest device also houses massive quad-storage with two 512GB mSATA SSD and two 2TB HDDs, allowing gamers to store away and retrieve multiple games without breaking a sweat. It is also the P37X v4’s unique feature because it blends speed and capacity in an incredibly thin and lightweight chassis.

For hardcore gamers, display is everything. The P37X v4 is also complemented with a brilliant full HD IPS display with wide viewing angle.

“Using the GTX 980M, gaming performance is pretty much second to none as they can be played on maximum settings at 4K with average frame rates close to or above 60 per second,” she said.

Like most gaming machines, they tend to get extremely hot when pushed to the max, which can lead to system crashes. In order to tackle the issue, the P37X v4 comes with built-in “Fan Tweak” to tailor the laptop’s fan speed, striking a perfect balance between system stability and cooling.
