CDC raises travel warning to Seoul

Taipei, June 2 (CNA) Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced Tuesday that it has raised its travel advisory for Seoul to a level 2 warning following the rapid spread of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) there.
The level 2 warning calls for a high degree of caution and strong protective measures when traveling to the destination. The CDC had previously issued a level 1 travel warning for the South Korean capital, urging caution. The agency uses a three-tier warning system, with level 3 advising against travel to the destination. Since the first MERS-CoV case was detected in South Korea, 25 people have been confirmed as being infected with the virus, and 1,000 people have been put in isolation.
