TOKYO (AP) -- Mainz has signed FC Tokyo striker Yoshinori Muto on a four-year contract.
The Bundesliga side announced the news on its website.
The 22-year-old Muto has scored nine goals in 14 appearances in the J-League's top flight this season.
Muto scored 13 goals for Tokyo last season, a record-tying mark by a J-League rookie. He has been capped 11 times by the national team, scoring one goal.
Muto will join compatriot Shinji Okazaki at Mainz, which finished 11th this season.
