Vietnamese sisters dedicate to Milkfish’s business

Half of the workers for Milkfish factory in Budai Township, Chiayi County are new immigrants from Vietnam. They are hard working and good learners, the major helper of the production and marketing department.
The head of Xiwen Milkfish production department, Tsai Wei-zheng, said that the packing and processing of Milkfish require man power. The environment is soaked in the smell of fish. The workers need to be on their feet for long hours, it’s a very tough job thus many newcomers left within a short period of time. Years ago, when the Vietnamese bride, A-Yua, came for the interview, Tsai did not expect much from her. To his surprise, A-Yua not only is a hardworking and good learner, she became very efficient at her work in a short time. A-Yua contacted more foreign spouses to come to work for the production department of Milkfish.
Yuan, a Vietnamese spouse who has been living in Taiwan for 12 years said that she can only make a few thousands back home. “It’s tough working at a Milkfish factory, but if you are willing to work, you can make 40,000 to 50,000 a month plus you can take care of your family after work. My Vietnamese friends think it’s a blessing to live in Taiwan,” said Yuan.
