CANBERRA, Australia (AP) -- ACT Brumbies prop Ben Alexander has signed a one-year contract extension which will see him remain in Australia and possibly play with the Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup beginning in September.
The 30-year-old Alexander shares the record-setting mark of 72 caps for a test prop with New South Wales Waratahs loosehead and international teammate Benn Robinson.
Alexander first signed with the Brumbies in 2008, the same year he made his test debut for Australia against France. He played in the 2011 Rugby World Cup and started all three matches against the British and Irish Lions in 2013.
This year's Rugby World Cup in England and Wales begins on Sept. 18.
