Cooking classes offered to promote low-carbon diet, cultural understanding

A Kaohsiung community college teams up with the Kaohsiung City Service Center One of the National Immigration Agency to provide hands-on multicultural cooking classes that prepare foods mainly with locally-produced ingredients aiming to save miles and reduce emissions on shorter transportation. The first class kicked off on May 15 at the Renwu farm.

The organizer said that the classes are designed to promote not only a healthy and low-carbon diet but also the understanding of other cultures through picking up exotic culinary skills, such as curry dumplings and Vietnamese sticky rice dumplings.
