NEW YORK (AP) -- The Billboard Music Awards are great for Taylor Swift -- and for ABC.
The singer's big night helped the awards show to its best night in television viewership since 2001. The Nielsen company said that the show was seen by 11.2 million people. Swift won eight awards, becoming the most decorated artist in that show's history, and debuted her new music video.
ABC was also helped by "Dancing With the Stars" and season finales for some of its biggest shows in a strong week, finishing a close second to CBS in viewers and winning among the youthful demographic it targets.
Nielsen says the series finale of "Mad Men" on AMC was seen by 3.3 million.
