MOE to promote Taiwan studies in 11 more countries

In a bid to promote Taiwan’s academic researches around the world, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced Monday that it has allocated new funds for expanding Taiwan’s research exchange programs to 15 universities across 11 countries for the 2015 fiscal year.

The move is expected to help promote the “Taiwan Studies” project through mutual exchanges with international institutions worldwide, the MOE said.

The ministry pointed out that it has been seeking international partnerships to help promote worldwide research interests in Taiwan via the establishment of the project since 2003, and it has actively been trying to encourage both local and foreign institutions to focus their research studies related to Taiwan. To date, the ministry has successfully held academic exchanges in 30 universities across the United States, the U.K., Germany and nine other countries.

The project is expected to be held in 15 institutions across 11 countries this year, including Belgium, South Korea, Israel, Vietnam, India, Australia, and five others.

In order to promote educational exchanges and studies on Taiwan, the MOE has allocated new funds to move ahead with this year’s educational tour overseas.
