Indian paramilitary says Kashmir militants killed 2 troops

SRINAGAR, India (AP) -- An official says armed militants ambushed a group of paramilitary soldiers in the disputed region of Kashmir and killed two before fleeing the scene.

Paramilitary spokesman Ashish Kumar Jha says the troops had been guarding a key highway connecting Kashmir's main city of Srinagar with the rest of India to the south when they were attacked on Monday.

Jha said more soldiers rushed to the scene near Sangam village, and cordoned off the area while searching for at least four suspected attackers.
