New immigrant handmade class presentation

The Datong District Office held a “New immigrants handmade class” and its final presentation took place in the afternoon of May 5. The event displayed the handmade accessories from the past ten classes, showing the hard work of the new immigrants.

The course invited teacher Song Li-hui from the Creative Studio to make six handbags with the new immigrants. The paper-folding classes were also included, and the immigrant students could teach their children when they went home. The chief of the Datong district, Lee Zheng-chun, said they partnered with the Taipei Fine Arts Museum to hold the field trip for the new immigrants, hoping to develop their interest in art.

Throughout the course, immigrant students made a lot of progress in the techniques of producing bags, and they are not only able to make the works with their creativity, but also made many new friends in the class.
