PARIS (AP) -- Divock Origi scored his eight goal of the season Sunday as Lille kept its hopes of qualifying for Europe alive with a 3-1 win over Lens in the French league.
Last-place Lens, which has been struggling the whole season after Azerbaijani shareholders failed to invest as much as promised into the club, was relegated even before traveling to its fierce rival for the Northern Derby.
Pablo Chavarria put the visitors ahead in the 24th minute but Lille pushed hard for an equalizer and was rewarded for its offensive pressure in the 41st minute after Traore was fouled on the edge of the box, with Sofiane Boufal coolly converting the penalty.
Djibril Sidibe made it 2-1 in the 74th minute and Origi sealed the win in added time.
Lille closed the gap to three points to sixth-place Bordeaux.
