COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) -- A Danish court has given Denmark international and Evian striker Nicki Bille Nielsen a 60-day suspended jail sentence and 80 hours community service for violence against police officers who arrested him last year in Copenhagen after a night out.
A female police officer who sat with the handcuffed player in the backseat of the patrol car told the Copenhagen City Court on Thursday he bit her arm and pretended he would vomit on her. He has denied the charges.
Bille Nielsen has two previous sentences for violence and brawls in Denmark and Norway, where he briefly played for Rosenborg.
The 27-year-old striker has played three games for Denmark and scored once against Malta in a World Cup qualifier in 2013.
