Exchange students participate in calligraphy lesson

The Kaohsiung City Government's Education Bureau and Cultural Bureau held a Chinese calligraphy lesson at the Fongyi Tutorial Academy for foreign exchange students. A total of 25 exchange students from the United States, France, Germany, Brazil, Mexico and Belgium experienced an interesting calligraphy lesson, and each received a pen which was blessed by the Wenchang Dijun. All of them agreed that it was an interesting and unforgettable experience in Taiwan.
A 16-year-old girl from Germany said: “Chinese calligraphy is beautiful and like art work. ” She studied Chinese for three months before coming. She has no difficulty in conversation now, and she is also able to read the Chinese newspaper. A French girl who had lived in India and Thailand for a month, is very curious about the oriental culture. She indicated that western art is very different from the east, the former emphasized creativity, while the latter focused on traditional culture.
The Culture Bureau said the Fongyi Tutorial Academy partners with Chung Hua China pen shop, and organizes the calligraphy lessons to introduce the beauty of calligraphy to the public. During the exam season, they also provide the Wenchang pen to those who are taking the exam.
