Foreign students design a friendlier rail station

Jiang You-sian and Huang Gui-xi, two Malaysian students from the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at Chienkuo Technology University, spent eight months on their project to repair the Changhua Railway Station. Due to their experience two years ago in losing their way right after stepping out of the station, they decided to design an easier station for the foreign travelers, hoping to raise the tourism quality here.
Huang said that the number of passengers moving through Changhua railway station is very high, but the surrounding transportation facilities are relatively out of date. Besides, the Taiwan Railways Administration elevatization combine the front and back exit together, making more space near the surrounding area.
They also noticed that the Changhua roundhouse, which is used to service locomotives is a valuable historic building. They plan to build a railway museum at the lobby of the station, and connect the train in the roundhouse to the museum.
