GEORGETOWN, Guyana (AP) -- Guyana's health minister is apologizing after an expletive-laced outburst at a social rights activist whom he threatened to have government supporters strip naked.
Bheri Ramsarran says he lost his temper when Sherlina Nageer repeatedly interrupted as reporters were interviewing him after a political event in the South American country.
Nageer had asked the minister why he was at Monday's activity instead of working to improve Guyana's health care system.
A recording of his outburst was posted on social media, prompting widespread criticism. Ramsarran said Tuesday he regrets using what he called "harsh words."
