LONDON (AP) -- Europe's week in sports produced a wide variety of events over the past seven days, including Horse Racing, Handball, a marathon, Ice Hockey and the usual array of football games played around the continent.
In England, Grand National horse riders were caught in silhouette while in London AP caught the Queen's Park Rangers goalkeeper on the floor after conceding an 88th minute goal to lose to Chelsea. Mauro Icardi scored for Inter in Italy's Serie A while AC Milan supporters protested at the San Siro in Milan. In Germany, AP captured the drama of the wall in football as Bayer Leverkusen's Gonzalo Castro tried to score from a free kick.
In Portugal, Benfica fans celebrated a victory that keeps the team at the top of the league.
In Paris, thousands ran down the Champs Elysees at the start of the 39th edition of the race. In Ice Hockey action, Russian and Swedish players battled for the puck while Handball action featured from Skopje, Macedonia.
