Taiwanese baseball fans break the longest timed Mexican Wave Record

The longest timed Mexican wave record was broken by the fans of EDA Rhinos baseball league in Taiwan on Sunday.

There were 17 thousand and 723 audience in the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium. During the break of the fifth round, the spectators broke the longest timed Mexican wave record which lasted 9 min 41 sec. The crowds were very enthusiastic and thrilled about their accomplishment.

John Garland, the Guinness World Records judge in presence, confirmed that the challenge was a success. On the behalf of Guinness World Records, he presented the achievement certificate to the team captain, Yang Pei Hong and John Wu, the chairman of Chinese Professional Baseball League.

The previous longest timed Mexican wave lasted 7 min 32 sec and was organized by Heineken (Netherlands) at the Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 12 November 2014.
