TLC's Joel Lambert draws inspiration from indigenous Taiwanese

Taipei, March 30 (CNA) Joel Lambert, host of Travel & Living Channel's (TLC) TV series "Manhunt," said Monday he has found the team spirit shared among Taiwan's indigenous people inspiring during filming for a TLC show in Taiwan. Invited to take part TLC's "Fun Taiwan All-Stars" travel series, the ex-Navy SEAL said a sense of community and inter-dependence built in the tribes is key to accomplishing missions and even surviving in the wild. During his trip to Sandimen Township in southern Taiwan, Lambert and "Fun Taiwan" presenter Janet Hsieh (???) learned traditional wisdom from Paiwan people on collecting herbs and hunting. While Lambert is no stranger to the skills necessary to survive extreme circumstances, he said how aboriginals work collectively was very impressive. That spirit echoes his Navy Seal training in the U.S., which stresses team collaboration more than anything else, Lambert said.
"It is all about how we conduct ourselves as a team," he said. "We need to always take care of each other out there." Lambert will be featured in one episode of Fun Taiwan's latest All-Stars series that began March 29 and invites 13 TLC presenters from around the world to experience Taiwan in depth. The interaction between local residents and "Fun Taiwan" foreign hosts is sponsored by the Tourism Bureau, which is working with the show to promote the country. Lambert's season 1 "Manhunt" will begin in Taiwan on April 3. (By Lee Hsin-Yin)
