Following last year’s successful collaboration with Japanese Michelin-star restaurant group UKAI, Regent Taipei invites Shanghai Min, one of mainland China’s largest restaurant groups to present a most authentic taste of classic Chinese culinary tradition in Taiwan. From March 26th to the 28th, famed television chef Wu Zhi-xiong from mainland China will be demonstrating the “Classic Shanghai Feast” at Regent Taipei’s Silks House and Silks Palace restaurants. This limited edition run of award-winning masterpieces and prized dishes is a delicious taste of Shanghai history and culture, an indispensable part of China’s diverse culture.

Founded in Shanghai, Shanghai Min is committed to the “modern Chinese” culture, honoring classic Shanghai cuisine and creating innovative fusion foods from Shanghai, Cantonese, and other international or cosmopolitan influences. Shanghai Min’s dedication to quality ingredients and Chinese culture is a wonderful match for the international Regent group’s core values of globalized, modern China and fresh, exquisite cuisine. More about Shanghai Min: also known as “Shanghai Min,” the company’s first restaurant was established in 1987 by Chairlady Ms. Wang Hui Min. As of 2012, Shanghai Min owns and operates over 65 restaurants with various Chinese cuisine brands in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

The limited edition “Classic Shanghai Feast” from Shanghai Min is an unprecedented group collaboration between culinary giants in mainland China and Taiwan. Using many of the finest quality ingredients imported from China, this impressive menu includes classic dishes such as the pan-fried river shrimps, steamed shad fish, fire-roasted crab, pan-fried crab Shanghai Min (steamed dumplings), signature yellow croaker fish noodles, and the classic Shanghai dessert, red dates pastry layer cake.

Available at Regent Taipei’s 3rd floor restaurant Silks House, the “Classic Shanghai Feast” for lunch and dinner set menus include choices of six appetizers, four main courses, and six desserts for NT$3,800 per person. Lunch events are limited to parties of 100 persons, and dinner events are limited to 150 persons per party. Within the National Palace Museum grounds, Silks Palace also offers this amazing lineup for lunch and dinner set menus, including choices of eight appetizers, one soup, and six desserts for NT$1,800 per person. Lunch events are limited to parties of 60 persons, and dinner events are limited to 100 persons per party. A la carte items are also available starting at NT$120 each.
