Pegatron delivers record fourth-quarter EPS

Taipei, March 23 (CNA) Taiwan's Pegatron Corp. (??), a major supplier for Apple Inc.'s iPhones, reported Monday its highest earnings per share (EPS) for the fourth quarter of 2014 thanks to brisk sales of communication products. Pegatron, which spun off from Taiwanese PC maker Asustek Computer Inc. (??) in 2010, posted fourth-quarter EPS of NT$2.38 (US$0.075) on quarterly revenue of NT$351.95 billion, driven mainly by strong shipments of smartphones during the year-end holiday shopping season. For the whole of 2014, Pegatron reported record-high EPS of NT$6.24 as its annual revenue 7.4 percent percent from the previous year to NT$1.019 trillion, the first time the company had surpassed the NT$1 trillion mark. Shares of Pegatron rose 3.49 percent to NT$92 Monday on the Taiwan stock exchange prior to the earnings announcement. (By Jeffrey Wu)
