Pegatron delivers record fourth-quarter EPS

Taipei, March 23 (CNA) Taiwan's Pegatron Corp. (??), a major supplier for Apple Inc., reported Monday its highest earnings per share (EPS) for the fourth quarter of 2014 thanks to brisk sales of the large-screen iPhone 6. Pegatron, which spun off from Taiwanese PC maker Asustek Computer Inc. (??) in 2010, posted fourth-quarter EPS of NT$2.38 (US$0.075) on quarterly revenue of NT$351.95 billion, driven mainly by strong shipments of consumer electronics during the year-end holiday shopping season. For the whole of 2014, Pegatron reported record-high EPS of NT$6.24 as its annual revenue increased 7.3 percent from the previous year to NT$1.019 trillion, the first time the company had surpassed the NT$1 trillion mark. Shares of Pegatron rose 3.49 percent to NT$92 Monday on the Taiwan stock exchange prior to the earnings announcement. (By Jeffrey Wu)
