Taipei Cycle show to be held in tandem with sporting goods fair

Taipei, March 15 (CNA) A bicycle exhibition will open March 18 in conjunction with the Taipei International Sporting Goods Show, spurring US$560 million worth of business opportunities, the organizers said Sunday. Over 1,100 domestic and foreign businesses will take part in the 2015 Taipei International Cycle Show, displaying bicycles, bike parts and accessories, light electric vehicles, and relevant components, said the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). It said the Japan Bicycle Promotion Institute will participate in the annual cycling show, setting up a national pavilion for the first time to showcase products from 11 Japanese bicycle companies. Meanwhile, at the sporting goods exhibition, some 300 businesses from Taiwan and other countries, including the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Pakistan, will display their products at a total of 1,800 booths, TAITRA said. Both shows will take place March 18-21, with the sporting goods products displayed at Taipei World Trade Center, Halls 1 and 3. The cycling show will be held at two different venues -- the Nangang Exhibition Hall and the second floor of Taipei World Trade Center's Hall 1. They will open with a joint inaugural ceremony at the Nangang Exhibition Hall on Wednesday and are expected to create a total US$560 million worth of business opportunities, according to TAITRA.
