Scale of Taipei sports product show to expand

Taipei, March 7 (CNA) The scale of the 2015 Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO, ?????????) is expected to expand to the largest on record, the Taipei External Trade Development Council (TAITRA, ??) said Saturday. As the annual TaiSPO enters its 42nd year, more and more sports goods vendors from home and abroad are keen to use the event to seek business opportunities and strike deals, TAITRA said. The TaiSPO is scheduled to kick off March 18 at the Taipei World Trade Center and will run through March 21, featuring a wide range of sporting products such as fitness equipment, outdoor sports products, balls, sportswear and massage equipment. So far, potential buyers from the United States, Japan, South Korea and India are scheduled to visit the trade show, the organizer said. According to TAITRA, almost 400 sporting goods vendors are expected to showcase their products in 1,800 booths in the 2015 exhibition, more than 20 percent of which will be from abroad. During the 2015 TaiSPO, the Taiwan International Diving and Water Sports Show (DiWas, ????????????) and the Taipei International Sports Textile & Accessory Expo (SpoMODE, ???????????????) are scheduled to be held at the same venue, which could attract even more visitors. Last year, TaiSPO had 366 exhibitors, up 1.1 percent from a year earlier, with the number of booths at 1,775, up 1.43 percent year-on-year, attracting a total of 20,388 visitors. Among the 366 exhibitors, about 17 percent came from abroad, TAITRA said. In addition to the DiWas and the SpoMODE, the Taipei International Cycle Show, (????????) one of the most important bicycle trade exhibitions, will kick off at the Taipei World Trade Center and the Nangang Exhibition Hall at the same time. TAITRA said that through the four trade shows, potential buyers will be able to pick up goods in one-stop shopping and will allow them to catch up with trends in the sports goods industry.
