Taipei ranks as world's 15th super rich city

London, March 6 (CNA) Taipei ranked as the 15th super rich city in the world, according to a report released by U.K.-based property market advisory firm Knight Frank. In its 2015 report, Knight Frank compiled data on ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWIs) which focused on the number of super rich people with more than US$30 million in net assets in a city. The rankings also revealed these super wealthy people's business links, economic activity and lifestyle. The advisory firm said that the cities in the rankings were places where the wealthy congregate, work, invest, are educated, and spend their leisure time. Based on these standards, Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, topped Frankfurt, Germany to take the title as the 15th ultra-rich city in the world, the report showed. Knight Frank said that individual wealth and the number of the rich people in Asia will continue to record "dramatic" growth, adding that over the next 10 years, cities in the region will see a 91 percent increase in their UHNWI populations on average. Reflecting the strength in wealth accumulation in Asia, several Asian cities took top spots on Knight Frank's 2015 super rich city list. Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai ranked 3rd, 4th and 5th places in the rankings, only trailing London (1st place) and New York (2nd place). Miami came in 6th, followed by Paris, Dubai, Beijing and Zurich, the report showed. Tokyo took the 11th position ahead of Toronto, Geneva, Sydney, Taipei and Frankfurt, Moscow, Madrid, San Francisco and Vienna, the rankings indicated. The report said that Milan took the 21st place in the rankings followed by Los Angeles, Jakarta, Munich, Amsterdam, Mumbai, Dublin, Johannesburg, Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, San Paulo, Brazil grasped the 31st place in the rankings, ahead of Mexico City, Berlin, Washington D.C. and Boston, Cape Town, Auckland, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Tel Aviv, according to the report.
