Warmer, sunny days ahead: CWB

Taipei, Feb. 13 (CNA) The chill that has enveloped Taiwan over the past few days is likely to ease up from Saturday as a cold air mass weakens, and warm sunny weather can be expected on the weekend, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Friday. It said the cold will last throughout Friday, with lows of around 10 degrees Celsius extending from the north of the country to as far south as Tainan and to the outlying islands of Kinmen and Matsu. In other areas, the lows will hover around 12 to 15 degrees, CWB forecasters said. Sunshine and highs of 22 to 25 degrees will prevail in most areas Friday, they said. As the cold front eases, the weather will turn warmer on the weekend, with temperatures rising 1-2 degrees across the country, according to the CWB. (By Lee Hsin-Yin)
