SYDNEY (AP) -- Asian club champions Western Sydney belatedly posted its first win of the Australian A-League season -- in round 16 -- by beating fourth-placed Wellington 2-0 on Sunday.
Nikita Rukavytsya gave the Wanderersa 1-0 lead at halftime and substitute Brendon Santalab clinched the win with a goal in the first minute of stoppage time.
Western Sydney -- A-League grand finalists in each of the past two years, -- had a record of four draws and nine losses going in.
Wellington has suffered back-to-back losses after a seven-match undefeated streak that carried near the top of the A-League table.
Perth leads the league by one-point from the Melbourne Victory after the weekend's 16th round.
