TransAsia to hold memorial services for victims of air crash

Taipei, Feb. 7 (CNA) TransAsia Airways said Saturday it will hold religious and memorial services for those who died in the crash of Flight GE235 in Taipei on Feb. 4.
The airline said a religious service to console the souls of the dead will be held on Monday, six days after the plane crashed into a river in Taipei, in line with local customs. After that a Buddhist memorial service will be held Tuesday morning, before a funeral service is held that afternoon. The crash took place when an ATR72-600 heading from Taipei to Kinmen lost power shortly after taking off from Taipei's Songshan Airport and careened into the Keelung River.
Of the 58 people on board only 15 survived. Another 40 have been confirmed dead, and three remained unaccounted for. (By Wang Shu-feng and Maubo Chang)
