Guam police investigate man's death as homicide

HAGATNA, Guam (AP) -- Guam police are investigating the death of a 46-year-old Upper Tumon man as a homicide.

Pacific Daily News ( reports the chief medical examiner conducted an autopsy Thursday and determined Kenster Ehder died of a broken neck after sustaining blunt-force trauma to the neck.

Ehder's body was found last weekend in Tamuning.

His family had been searching for him for days before learning of his death.

His son, Joseph Ehder, says his father left the home midday Sunday to walk to Ypao Beach, but failed to return that night, prompting concern by the family.

The son says the family called Guam Memorial Hospital and was initially told incorrectly that there were no patients there by the name of Kenster Ehder. Hospital officials have since apologized, blaming a computer software problem.
