BATA, Equatorial Guinea (AP) -- Equatorial Guinea's third-place game at the African Cup of Nations will go ahead on Saturday despite the crowd violence that marred the home team's loss to Ghana in the semifinals.

Equatorial Guinea will play fellow losing semifinalist Congo at the same stadium in Malabo where home fans attacked Ghanaian supporters and threw missiles at players and officials on Thursday.

Confederation of African Football spokesman Junior Binyam says the third-place game won't be called off. Binyam said CAF met earlier Friday to discuss the violence at Malabo Stadium, and will release a statement after lunch local time.

Equatorial Guinea was already warned by CAF to control its fans following disturbances in its previous game, a contentious 2-1 win over Tunisia in the quarterfinals in Bata.
