LONDON (AP) -- Gov. Chris Christie held the most high-profile meeting of his trip to the United Kingdom with British Prime Minister David Cameron.
The pair spent about 40 minutes together on Monday night at 10 Downing Street in central London.
Christie departed without speaking to reporters and headed to a closed-door dinner with British cabinet officials.
The Republican governor is on a three-day trade mission that doubles as a chance for him to shore up his foreign policy credentials ahead of a likely presidential run.
Christie said shortly after his arrival Sunday that he was looking forward to the get-together.
He also traveled to Cambridge Monday to meet with members of the pharmaceutical industry and met with the U.S. ambassador. He'll meet with the chancellor of the exchequer on Tuesday.
