Domestic fuel prices to rise slightly Monday

Taipei, Jan. 25 (CNA) Gasoline and diesel prices in Taiwan will increase slightly on Monday, following a small rise in international oil prices last week, CPC Corp., Taiwan said Sunday. Starting from the early hours of Monday, consumers will pay NT$25.7 (US$0.82) per liter for 98-octane unleaded gasoline, NT$23.7 per liter for 95-octane unleaded gasoline, and NT$22.2 per liter for 92-octane unleaded gasoline, which represents an increase of NT$0.1 per liter in each category, the Taiwan's state-run petroleum refiner said. CPC's diesel price will rise to NT$19.9 per liter, it said. The oil refiner adjusts fuel prices once a week based on changes in a weighted crude oil price index consisting of 70 percent Dubai crude and 30 percent Brent crude. Taiwan's fuel prices had been dropping for three consecutive weeks and reached a nearly six-year low last week. (By Milly Lin and Kuo Chung-han)
