MADRID (AP) -- Real Madrid says it has signed 16-year-old Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard.
Madrid announced Odegaard's transfer from Norwegian club Stroemgodset early on Thursday.
Odegaard will be presented on Thursday after a medical exam.
In October, Odegaard became the youngest player at age 15 to appear in a European Championship qualifier when he came on as a substitute in Norway's 2-1 win over Bulgaria.
Media reports had pointed to interest from several European clubs in the teenager.
