LISBON, Portugal (AP) -- Benfica beat Guimaraes 3-0 at home to keep the Portuguese league lead on Saturday, while Porto won to remain in second place.
Jonas opened the scoring for Benfica in the 12th minute when he headed in Nicolas Gaitan's free kick.
Ola John made it 2-0 in the 53rd before Gaitan scored from Eduardo Salvio's pass with a minute to go.
Benfica stayed unbeaten at home, and extended its winning streak in the league to eight games.
Guimaraes' first loss in six games left it 12 points off the pace.
Porto stayed six points behind Benfica with a 3-0 win at home over Belenenses.
Jackson Martinez scored in the ninth followed by Oliver Torres a minute after halftime. Evandro polished off Porto's victory in stoppage time.
Also, Pacos Ferreira drew 2-2 at Academica.
