ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- PAOK was overwhelmed 3-0 at Asteras on Saturday and was at risk of holding on to the lead in the Greek league for only one more day.
Asteras had already blown two chances, including a missed penalty, before Yiannis Yianniotas opened the scoring in the ninth minute.
Khalifa Sankare made it 2-0 in the 30th, and four minutes later had another effort saved on the line by PAOK forward Klaus Athanassiadis.
Yianniotas added his second goal at the stroke of halftime.
PAOK remained a point ahead of Olympiakos, which could climb to the top at the league's halfway point by beating host Xanthi on Sunday. Asteras rose to third, six points off the pace.
Also, Platanias beat Panionios 3-0, and Kalloni drew 1-1 at Veria.
