Boy born without hands holds art exhibition

Taipei, Jan. 10 (CNA) An art exhibition featuring the works of a 12-year-old boy born without hands opened on the outlying island of Penghu Saturday. The exhibition will run through Jan. 25 at Penghu's Bureau of Cultural Affairs. On display are more than 40 paintings created by Lin Yu-su using his feet, which include sketches, acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings and ink wash paintings, as well as drawings from Lin's pre-school years. At the exhibition's opening ceremony, the organizer played a video showing how Lin uses his feet to write, paint, do housework, put on his clothes and use a computer, which deeply touched the visitors. Describing Lin as an angel who inspires people to live a positive life, Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu said schoolchildren in the county will be encouraged to visit the exhibition to learn from the young artist.
