WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) -- Two goals from striker Jeremy Brockie led Wellington to a 3-0 win over defending A-League champions Brisbane Roar on Sunday to move the Phoenix into second place, four points behind leading Perth.
Manny Muscat scored in the fourth minute and Brockie added goals in the 51st and 67th minutes to give Wellington the win at home.
On Saturday, Sydney FC entered a three-week break for the Asian Cup with a familiar performance -- failing to score in a 0-0 draw with Newcastle.
Sydney is winless in seven matches and has also gone more than four games -- a total of 374 minutes -- without scoring a goal.
Central Coast played Melbourne City in a later match Sunday. Perth hosts Adelaide on Monday.
