West Indies 245-4 vs SAfrica, avoids follow-on in 2nd test

PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa (AP) -- Kraigg Brathwaite and Marlon Samuels both brought up centuries and then fell in quick succession on a rain-hit fourth day of the second test between South Africa and West Indies at St. George's Park on Monday.

Brathwaite scored 106 and Samuels made 101 before the West Indies went to tea on 245-4, avoiding the follow-on but still trailing South Africa's first innings 417-8 by 172 runs.

Morning rain wiped out the first session but Brathwaite and Samuels lit up the afternoon with their entertaining strokeplay, going to their centuries in consecutive overs.

Both then fell in the space of four deliveries, leaving Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Denesh Ramdin to reach tea on 4 and 8 respectively.
