TORONTO (AP) -- Pavel Buchnevich had a goal and two assists and Igor Shestyorkin made 32 saves to help Russia beat Switzerland 7-0 on Sunday in the World Junior Championship.

Rushan Rafikov, Vyacheslav Leshenko, Alexander Sharov, Vladislav Kamenev, Sergei Tolchinski Alexander Dergachyov also scored for Russia, second in Group B with five points after opening with a shootout victory over Denmark on Friday. Sweden tops the group with six points with two regulation wins.

"We weren't ready two days ago, but we were ready today," Russian forward Ivan Barbashyov said.

Switzerland's Phil Baltisberger was taken off on a stretcher in the second period after Anatoli Golyshev's high hit from behind. Golyshev received a major penalty and game misconduct and will be suspended at least one game. Baltisberger was taken to a hospital. He plays for Guelph in the Ontario Hockey League.

"He can feel his legs, he's all right," Swiss captain Yannick Rathgeb said. "He can feel everything. He just didn't have any power to get up and his neck really hurt."

Switzerland was coming off an opening 5-2 victory over the Czech Republic on Saturday.

In Group A in Montreal, the United States faced Germany. The Americans opened Friday with a 2-1 shootout victory over Finland. The Americans will play Slovakia on Monday and finish group play Wednesday night against Canada. The Canadians lead the group with six points with two regulation wins.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
