KUEHTAI, Austria (AP) -- American teen Mikaela Shiffrin led a women's World Cup giant slalom after the opening run Sunday, positioning herself for a second win in the discipline and 11th overall.
Shiffrin, who took the season-opening GS in Soelden two months ago, timed 1 minute, 8.16 seconds on the Huhe Mut course to lead second-place Sara Hector of Sweden by 0.27.
Overall World Cup champion Anna Fenninger trailed by 0.39 in third, and Austrian teammate Eva-Maria Brem, who leads the GS standings, was another 0.05 back in fourth.
Overall leader Tina Maze of Slovenia finished more than a second off the lead.
It's the last women's GS before the world championship race in Beaver Creek on Feb. 12.
