Candidates in Taiwan like to prepare creative campaign freebies for everyone because the relatively cheap price for the good that can be useful for their publicity. Many Mainland tourists and students also received these campaign freebies. Recently, it was also reported that they even held a special campaign freebies contest to show the cultural and creative campaign in a form of small gifts.

The candidates campaign freebies is limited to be produced under NT$30. Because of its design and functionality, many Mainland tourists and students like to collect it. “Taihai News” (海峽導報) even had a contest for the campaign freebies made for the elections in Taiwan. There was a candidate who re-used the waste oil to be a soap bar and gave it for free for the people. There was also a business card with magnifying glass embedded on it to be used when people try to read newspaper, observe insects or to get a reflection. They were using the garbage of Taipei to be new useful products. It made the voters wanted to give him some junks and wait for the campaign freebies to come out of him.

The DPP related promotional items are most welcome by the Mainland tourists. The stylish and “hippy” design is one of the reasons why many people chose it.
