MONTPELLIER, France (AP) -- Montpellier is likely to play its next home games in a neutral venue after its stadium was flooded by torrential rain in southern France.
Montpellier's next home game in the French league is on Oct. 19 against Lyon and club president Laurent Nicollin says he is considering "having to play elsewhere for a while."
Pictures of La Mosson Stadium posted on the club's website showed the floods caused immense damage to the stands and field.
Violent storms hit parts of southern France on Monday night, leaving the city of Montpellier under water for the second time in a week.
Nicollin added that because of the damage the club's 40th anniversary scheduled in November had been canceled.
