Beale named at 10 for Australia vs. All Blacks

Beale to start at flyhalf in reworked Australia backline for Bledisloe test vs New Zealand

SYDNEY (AP) -- Kurtley Beale has replaced Bernard Foley at flyhalf in a reworked Australia backline selected for the Rugby Championship opener against New Zealand on Saturday.

Beale played outside Foley in the Super Rugby-winning New South Wales lineup but was preferred at pivot in his first starting spot in a test for 2014.

Strong form for the Waratahs also helped veteran utility Adam Ashley-Cooper move back into the centers after a long stint on the wing for the Wallabies. Experienced midfielders Rob Horne and Pat McCabe have been selected on the wings.

Australia coach Ewen McKenzie also made changes to the forward pack which sealed a three-test sweep against France in June, with Nathan Charles replacing injured hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau and lock Sam Carter returning from injury.
