PARIS (AP) -- A brief look at the 21st stage of the Tour de France on Sunday:
Stage: The final stage was a 137.5-kilometer (85.4-mile) ceremonial procession from Evry to Paris with the traditional finish on the avenue of the Champs-Elysees.
Winner: Marcel Kittel outsprinted Alexander Kristoff for his fourth stage win on this Tour. Ramunas Navardauskas finished third.
Yellow jersey: Vincenzo Nibali. Only an injury could prevent Nibali from winning this Tour. The Italian started the last stage with a lead of 7 minutes, 52 seconds over Jean-Christophe Peraud in second place, which was cut by only 15 seconds. He is only the sixth rider to complete a career Triple Crown after Jacques Anquetil, Felice Gimondi, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Alberto Contador. Nibali won the Spanish Vuelta in 2010 and the Giro d'Italia last year.
Green jersey: Peter Sagan proved the Tour's best sprinter for the third straight year. The Slovakian rider did not win a single stage, despite four runner-up finishes, but showed a lot of consistency to have a lead of more than 140 points in the best sprinter contest. Sagan only trails Erik Zabel (6) and Sean Kelly (4) for most green jerseys.
Polka dot jersey: Rafal Majka became the first Pole to claim the jersey for the best climber. The Tinkoff-Saxo rider won Stage 14 in the Alps and Stage 17 in the Pyrenees and also had two top 3 finishes.
White jersey: Thibaut Pinot was the best young rider and also finished third overall. The 24-year-old Frenchman attacked in the last kilometers of Stage 16 to leapfrog Romain Bardet in the standings. Past white jersey winners include Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck.
Quote of the day: "No feeling of happiness could be compared to what we feel on the podium at the Champs-Elysees. It's even more beautiful than what I could imagine." -- Nibali.
Stat of the day: 7. The number of stage wins by German riders on this Tour, a German record.
What's next: Injuries forced defending champion Chris Froome and former Tour de France winners Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck to pull out of the race. Nibali will be under pressure next year to prove that he's not a champion by default.
