Asian Pacific Parliamentarians' Union meeting to take place in Taipei

Taipei, July 13 (CNA) The annual meeting of the Asian Pacific Parliamentarians' Union (APPU) is scheduled to take place in Taipei on Aug. 4-6 to discuss decreasing regional cooperation and how to minimize natural disasters, according to the Secretariat of Taiwan's Legislative Yuan. Participants of this year's meeting will include speakers of legislative bodies from six countries, the secretariat said Sunday. It will mark the second time that Taiwan has hosted the APPU meeting since 2009, when the participants discussed how to ensure human security. (By Tseng Ying-yu and Jeffrey Wu)
