Visiting Korean actress hoping to visit National Palace Museum

Taipei, June 9 (CNA) South Korean actress Ha Ji-won, who is visiting Taiwan to promote the historical TV series "Empress Ki," expressed hope Monday that she will be able to visit the National Palace Museum during her trip. "I'm very glad to see everyone. I miss everyone very much," Ha, whose birth name is Jeon Hae-rim, said in Mandarin at a press conference in Taipei. The 35-year-old said she was very touched to see so many fans greeting her on her second visit to the country. She first visited Taiwan seven years ago. The actress, who arrived in Taiwan a day earlier, said she has already tried out Taiwanese foot massage and tasted xiaolongbao -- the small steamed buns that are a popular local delicacy -- and really enjoyed them. The National Palace Museum boasts one of the largest collections of ancient Chinese artifacts and artworks in the world and Ha is an avid museum lover. The actress gained popularity in Taiwan with her role as Empress Gi from the Yuan Dynasty in the TV series "Empress Ki," which describes the empress's rise to power.
