Santos goalkeeper suspended after fight with fans

Brazil's top sports tribunal suspended Santos goalkeeper Fabio Costa for seven matches on Friday because of a fight with fans two weeks ago.
Costa exchanged punches with some fans following the team's 1-1 draw against Fluminense in the Brazilian league on Sept. 20.
The veteran goalkeeper was jeered by fans during the match after a blunder in goal, and responded by making obscene gestures at the stands at Santos' Vila Belmiro stadium.
Some fans waited outside the stadium and started the fight as he left the building. No one was injured.
Costa will be able to play in only four of Santos' remaining 11 matches in the league.
On Thursday, he left the team's 3-0 win over rival Corinthians because of a shoulder injury. He will likely be replaced by youngster Felipe, who played well off the bench.
Santos is third in the 20-team standings, trailing leader Sao Paulo by seven points.
The two-time Brazilian champion will host second-place Gremio on Sunday.
On Wednesday, players from second-division Brazilian club Coritiba fought with fans protesting the team's lackluster campaign. Punches were thrown and chairs were tossed, but no one was injured or arrested.
