Kuznetsova, Golovin reach semifinals

Former U.S. Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova moved closer to a third straight title when she beat Jelena Jankovic 6-4, 6-1 to reach the Porsche Grand Prix semifinals.
The second-seeded Russian broke decisively to lead 4-3 in the first set against the eighth-seeded Serb, who needed treatment for cramp in her second-round match that didn't finish until early Friday.
"I put myself under a lot of pressure because I had lost to her at the U.S. Open," Kuznetsova said. "I was a bit stiff at the start, it was probably good that I didn't play yesterday."
Jankovic, who reached last month's U.S. Open semifinals, made repeated unforced errors in the second set and could hardly walk after her victory over Tsvetana Pironkova 15 hours earlier.
Kuznetsova, who has won back-to-back titles in Bali and Beijing, also took the Miami championship earlier this year.
Also Friday, Tatiana Golovin of France beat fellow teenager Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands 6-1, 6-2 to reach the last four.
Golovin, 18, took a 5-0 lead against her 17-year-old opponent in the first set. She held serve for 2-2 in the second and won the next four games to close it out in 68 minutes on her second match-point.
The 25th-ranked Golovin reached her first career Grand Slam quarterfinal at the U.S. Open. She was also a semifinalist in Miami, Stanford and Paris indoors.
Krajicek, ranked No. 34, is the younger sister of former men's Wimbledon champion, Richard. She has three career titles, including in Hobart and Den Bosch this year
In other quarterfinals later Friday, Daniela Hantuchova faced fourth-seeded Nadia Petrova and third-seeded Elena Dementieva met fifth-seeded Patty Schnyder.
